I think rejections are an important indicator of whether you have put yourself "out there". After all, can't be rejected if you are not trying. Looking at other people's academic CVs can be so demoralizing, while rejection and serious (sometimes unconstructive) criticism are so common in academia. So, here are my failures and rejections!
